Hi, I’m Giancarlo Fortuna, an Italian photographer born in Turin and now based in Sagres, Portugal. Four years ago, I left my job in Italy in search of new passions and opportunities, and photography found me. It all started when a friend needed help capturing surf schools, and I picked up a camera for the first time. What began as a chance encounter quickly grew into both a passion and a profession.

Today, photography allows me the freedom to schedule my time, explore the world, and document life’s most beautiful moments. While I spend most of the year in Sagres, surrounded by the ocean and rugged cliffs, I escape to tropical destinations during the winter months, always chasing new experiences and inspiration.

My work is deeply connected to the places I visit and the people I meet. From the vibrant energy of surf culture to the quiet intimacy of a couple’s story, I aim to create images that feel authentic and timeless.
